Speckled Grey Mug – Porcelain Inlay

A sophisticated exploration of material contrast and graphic precision. This hand-thrown mug is crafted from a distinctive Speckled Grey Stoneware, characterized by its fine mineral inclusions that emerge through the clay body like a stone weathered by time.

The exterior features a meticulous Porcelain Inlay technique: delicate vertical lines of white porcelain are hand-carved and inlaid into the grey clay, creating a rhythmic, tactile pattern that wraps around the vessel. This labor-intensive process ensures that the decoration is part of the clay itself, rather than just a surface treatment.

The interior and the rim are finished with my self-produced Hazelnut Matt glaze. This satin-finish glaze provides a warm, organic contrast to the cool grey tones of the exterior, offering a smooth and comfortable experience with every sip.

With its generous capacity and ergonomic shape, this tumbler is designed to be a companion for your slow mornings or long working sessions at the desk.

Materials: High-fired Speckled Grey Stoneware with Porcelain inlays.
Glaze: Unique self-produced brown matt glaze (food safe).
Dimensions: Approx. 9.5 cm height, 8 cm diameter.
Volume: Approx. 380 ml – Ideal for filter coffee, tea, or a large cappuccino.

Care: Dishwasher safe, though hand-washing is recommended to maintain the delicate porcelain details and the satin glaze.

Craftsmanship: Hand-thrown and hand-decorated in Via Romana, Florence. Each piece is unique, reflecting the quiet precision of artisan craftsmanship.
